One Night in Bangkok

After two fabulous days in Seoul, Andrew and I flew to Bangkok, and had a night to spend there before heading to Phnom Penh. We naturally headed dow to the backpackers paradise of Koh San Road, and found a guesthouse for about $12. Since we arrived around 10 pm, and got to our hostel close to 11, we had but one option, go out and drink. We found a roadside bar, and drank a few Chang beers each. A group of 4 people sat down beside us, and we got to talking. It turns out that one of them is from Guelph, and another from Orillia. The girl from Orillia grew up as best friends with someone I knew reasonably well from my undergrad, and also a guy from our section at Nipissing last year. After a couple of hours of chat, we say adieu, and wandered on dow the street to find another place to drink. Finally, around 3 o'clock, we called it a night, and hit the sack.
The next morning we walked around a reasonably deserted Koh San Road before taking a taxi back to the airport for our flight to Phnom Penh.

New friends in new places.

The fabulous Koh San Road.

Who needs a towel when they give you curtains?
